Compilation - Averages (under development)

Points to remember.
In a AP series, the middle term is the average.
average of n even number sequence=(first number+last number)/2
same goes for odd numbers
Bowling average=runs/wicket.
Batsman average=runs/inning.

Type of problem

Type 1
Bowling average, sports related question.
marks of the middle person (left out person )
average and chronology. draw diagram on line jot down total age and members at all intervals.

Type 2
Average speed of vehicle.
Total distance/total time
make sure unit of measurement are same.
use digital root method in case of time crunch (does not work in approximate answer)

Type 3
average annual salary, salary at start is given then it is increased by some logic every month.
generic result ( 12×start salary  + (11×12/2)×increasing amt )/12

Type 4
percentage increase in population.
find average increase.
use the increased population to find the percentage change of 2nd year and then divide sum by 2 to get average.

Type 5
one or more person is added or removed from the group, find the subsequent cant in average.
or change in average is given find the value of new person.
numbrr are written on board and number are removed. the average wont change much. total number will be multiple of denominator.
take caution on what is total numbr asked (book/board)

Type 6
when few items are taken in triplet or quadraplet. each value is taken 3 time and 4 time respectively. take that in account while solving.

Type 7
in solving equation on avg use k=l=1
